We did it! Miss Petite Nigeria Blog clocks 2 years

Wow! I had planned to write a diary of how it all started,do a photoshoot and share the photos and all..but right now,I just want to bask in the euphoria of this moment.I can't believe its been 2 years since I picked up my Laptop and decided to blog.Leaving my Juicy job as a Lagos State Governor's correspondent and deciding to be independent, make my own rules and do this. It started like a joke,an avenue to relieve the pain of losing my dad and here I am still going strong, still receiving accolades, still getting so much love.
I recall when I told someone about the Nigerian Blog Awards, I said I wish I could someday be nominated. He said
" Forget it. Do you know how many blogs are out There. You have been blogging for one year and you think anyone has noticed you"? 2 months later, I recall I fainted ( not real faint sha . ). lol when I was told I bagged 4 nominations including Blog of the year.
I was shocked because just the year before that, I was voting for other blogs on that same platform, as a reader.
I eventually won 'best new Blog" and that changed a lot of things. The beautiful part is, I didn't see it coming.

I must say, as bloggers, not everyone would make money via blog adverts, there are a million other ways  if you are passionate about it ,and don't give up. All we need to do is look at the bigger picture and expand our horizons.
In Dec, i was recommended as the official scriptwriter for the Calabar Carnival, under the umbrella of Ebony Life TV. Guess what got me the job? All they did was open my blog and read one of my articles. No one asked for my Law degree certificate, Noone asked for my qualifications for a one month job worth hundreds of thousands.
Guess how I got my  current job as a Fashion Editor of recently launched Reloaded Magazine? My European Bosses, were in search of a high profile team all they did was go online and search for top bloggers. They found my blog amoung many others, and finally choose me for the job. I need not emphasize how lucrative it is for me to mention it here.

Do you know to get an ordinary job in Nigeria, you need to submit CV's upon CV's.. go for rounds of interviews .But I can state that, in the last 2 years, no one has asked for my CV. My blog has become my CV. Now, its become an obsession, something I'm so passionate about beyond the word itself. Its become a point of reference for me,its become a source of pride.I'm proud to say its a success story and success depends on your definition

Sometimes I wonder if all my years in the University and professional courses were really needed. Then I remember, Education is Key. It gives you an edge. But it doesn't guarantee success. Your zeal and push does. Most importantly, your relationship with God does.
I'm not in any way blowing my trumpet,I'm just trying to prove that the playing field is large enough for all of us. And if you don't see dividends yielding in the manner you thought it would, look deep and find other ways

I just want to say THANK YOU.If you are reading this now, THANK YOU.I don't care how you found yourself here, intentionally or by accident, I appreciate you.
I cherish each and everyone who drops comments too, who laughs at my naughtiness, praises my Blogger's diary and of course constructively criticizes me.
On my first Anniversary, I was so excited to know I had 308 thousand page views in one year, Now it's clocking 4 million. Thats a 90% rise...Looking back at this, and seeing how far I've come in another year,I cant help but say Thank you all for the encouragement.

To mark my 2nd year anniversary, an amazing gentleman built an ANDROID APP for Miss Petite Nigeria. For all those who use Android Phones, kindly stay updated by
Downloading the App and be the first to know when I post any story on this blog. You won't regret it. Would upload the banners soon. Search for this blog on Google Play or DOWNLOAD HERE (Thanks for your support)
