What I saw shocked me.What was I thinking?
Be closer to God(This one is sure)
Become a millionaire
Move to Banana Island
Produce a 3D movie
Win the Orange prize for fiction
Buy a Pink Range Rover Sport
Get Engaged
Did I really write engaged? How come nah? Didn't I say love doesn't exist? Why base resolutions on things we have no control over such as falling in love, getting married, becoming a millionaire, living on Banana Island.
Don't get me wrong, nothing is unattainable but at the same time, for you to attain certain heights you've got to overcome certain things. There's got to be a plan of action.
So,rather than I want to be a millionaire how about I want to be a better writer(if i'm the best writer around,i'm one step closer to being a millionaire right? (I’m an intellectual billionaire) but does that bring respect?
Live in Banana Island? Really? How about starting with Victoria Garden City .Lol,
Then it hit me, sometimes we search for what we want, not what we really need. I’m not saying dreams and aspirations don’t come true. It takes one moment to have your life turned around for good.
But many of us don’t look at our strengths and talent? We look at our society and set our standards in line with that.
What happened to, I want to touch lives by writing? What happened to, I just want to find love? What happened to I want to be a better person? Be comfortable?
Instead, I just went all out towards materialism.
So taking a look at the direction my life has taken,I decided to re write my resolution and so it goes
Be closer to God
Be a writer/blogger of repute
Be financially comfortable
Buy a white Range rover sport (lol)
These are attainable right? I've got two months left
As for getting engaged……
I hope that makes it into next year’s resolution list
